Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon clove
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 6 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped pecans or 1 cup walnuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375°.
- 2 in a large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, sugars, extracts, spices, salt and baking soda, beating until fairly smooth.
- 3 beat in the egg, scraping the bowl, then beat in the corn syrup and milk. stir in the oats, flour, nuts and raisins.
- 4 drop the dough by the tablespoonful onto greased baking sheets.
- 5 bake the cookies for 11 minutes, until they're a light golden brown. remove them from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
