Pesto Filled Baby Brie

Ingredients
- 1 (13 1/4 ounce) package baby brie round, original alouette
- 1 small garlic clove
- 1/2 cup fresh basil (1 1/2 tsp. dried)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- squeeze fresh lemon juice
- 1 pinch fresh ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped pine nuts or 1 tablespoon walnuts
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Recipe
- 1 split the brie horizontally into two layers. set aside.
- 2 in food processor, chop garlic finely. add fresh basil leaves, half of the butter, lemon juice and pepper. process until smooth. stir in nuts.
- 3 spread filling evenly onto one layer of the brie then top with second layer, cut side down.
- 4 spread remaining butter around edges of the cheese and sprinkle with parsley.
- 5 to serve, cut into wedges.
- 6 hint: make 24 hours before serving so that flavors will blend.
