Devilish Chocolate Caramel Cake

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 1 (18 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
  • 12 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts (optional) or 1 cup other nuts (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 and grease 9x13 in pan.
  • 2 beat cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk with electric mixer. if desired, mix in nuts or extra chocolate chips. press half the batter into pan and bake for 10-15 minutes until set. remove from oven.
  • 3 stir together caramel topping, 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and flour. pour mixture over cake and top with 1 cup of the choc chips.
  • 4 top with remaining batter and another cup of chocolate chips. bake 20-30 minutes until crusty. (it will look underdone but will firm as it cools.).
  • 5 cool completely before cutting.
