Orange Marmalade Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 ounces orange marmalade
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • 2 add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • 3 blend in marmalade and set mixture aside.
  • 4 combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • 5 add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternately with orange juice; stir in nuts.
  • 6 pour into a greased and floured 9x5" loaf pan.
  • 7 bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until toothpick tests clean.
  • 8 cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
