Grandma's Stove Top Chicken

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 4 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 put the raisins in the wine and set aside.
  • 2 sprinkle chicken with paprika.
  • 3 brown the chicken in oil for about 10 minute.
  • 4 meanwhile drain the oranges, saving the juice.
  • 5 add garlic to the juice and pour over the chicken.
  • 6 drain the raisins and add, cooking for another 5 minute.
  • 7 remove the chicken.
  • 8 mix the corn startch and cold water.
  • 9 add to the broth and stir until thickened.
  • 10 add grated ginger and the oranges.
  • 11 add the chicken and walnuts.
  • 12 cook for another few minute.
  • 13 serve over rice.
