Maple Nut Cake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f and grease an 8x8 inch square pan.
- 2 cream the butter, add the sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.
- 3 beat in the eggs one at a time.
- 4 stir in the maple flavoring.
- 5 combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 6 add the flour mixture in 3 parts alternately with the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
- 7 stir in the walnuts and pour in the prepared pan.
- 8 bake at 350 degrees f for 40-45 minutes or until an toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 9 let cake cool completely, then frost with maple butter frosting.
