Maple Nut Cake

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f and grease an 8x8 inch square pan.
  • 2 cream the butter, add the sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.
  • 3 beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • 4 stir in the maple flavoring.
  • 5 combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 6 add the flour mixture in 3 parts alternately with the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  • 7 stir in the walnuts and pour in the prepared pan.
  • 8 bake at 350 degrees f for 40-45 minutes or until an toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • 9 let cake cool completely, then frost with maple butter frosting.
