Lemon Nut Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 55 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons finely shredded lemons, rind of
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 cream together butter or margarine and sugar yntill mixture is light and fluffy.
  • 2 add eggs and shredded lemon peel.
  • 3 beat thoroughly.
  • 4 stir together flour,baking powder and salt.
  • 5 add to creamed mixture alternately with milk,beating well after each addition.
  • 6 stir in walnuts.
  • 7 pour batter into a greased 8 1/2x4 1/2x2/12 inch loaf pan.
  • 8 bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.
  • 9 cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  • 10 remove and cool on rack.
