Decadent Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsel
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or 1 cup walnuts
  • 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate morsel
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons whipping cream

Recipe

  • 1 making the cake:.
  • 2 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 3 grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • 4 in a saucepan, combine corn syrup and butter; bring to a boil.

  • 10 bake cake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
  • 11 transfer pan to a wire rack and cool for 10 minutes.

  • 14 in a saucepan, melt chocolate, corn syrup and butter over low heat; stir in cream.
