Pumpkin Bread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups unsifted flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon clove
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350*. grease 3 8 x 4 x 2 1/2" loaf pans, set aside.
  • 2 combine flour, soda, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, ginger, cloves; set aside. in a large bowl, cream sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. add pumpkin, water,and eggs; mix well. stir in flour mixture until well blended. fold in nuts and raisins. pour equal amounts into prepared pans. bake until a cake-teaster inserted in the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. cool in pans for 10 minutes. loosen with a metal spatula; turn onto wire racks to cool. serve warm.
