Peach Walnut Spice Cake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 fresh peaches
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Recipe
- 1 cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. beat in eggs, then add molasses; beating thoroughly.
- 2 peel and chop peaches and stir into mixture.
- 3 combine remaining ingredients and stir into creamed mixture until smooth.
- 4 pour into greased and floured 9 inch square pan.
- 5 bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until pick inserted into center comes out dry.
- 6 cut into squares and top with whipped cream and peach slices if desired.
