Milk And Honey Wheat Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 1 cup walnut halves (optional) or 1 cup walnuts, chunks (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 heat milk and honey together until honey is dissolved, then stir in the butter.
  • 2 when the milk-butter mixture is somewhat cooled, beat in the eggs.
  • 3 sift together the flour through salt; add wheat germ.
  • 4 gradually stir the dry mixture into the liquid.
  • 5 stir in nuts (if desired).
  • 6 turn into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  • 7 bake at 325°f 1 hour.
