Grandma's Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- 2 mix the first three ingredients thoroughly and set aside.
- 3 in a separate bowl, mix the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. add the mixed dry ingredients to the first mixture.
- 4 dough may be chilled first. make balls the size of walnuts and roll in a mixture of the remaining sugar and cinnamon.
- 5 bake on an ungreased cookie sheet. do not place cookies too close together as the balls spread out.
- 6 bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
