Mincemeat Chews

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4-12 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 cups mincemeat, with
  • brandy, and
  • rum
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
  • 2 in medium bowl, cream shortening & sugar.
  • 3 add molasses, egg & vanilla, & beat well.
  • 4 whisk together flour, baking soda, salt & ginger.
  • 5 add flour mixture to shortening mixture, & combine well.
  • 6 add mincemeat & nuts, & combine well.
  • 7 add oats, & combine well.
  • 8 drop by rounded teaspoons onto baking sheet.
  • 9 bake 15 minutes, then cool on wire rack.
