Mincemeat Chews

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4-12 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 1/2 cups mincemeat, with
- brandy, and
- rum
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
- 2 in medium bowl, cream shortening & sugar.
- 3 add molasses, egg & vanilla, & beat well.
- 4 whisk together flour, baking soda, salt & ginger.
- 5 add flour mixture to shortening mixture, & combine well.
- 6 add mincemeat & nuts, & combine well.
- 7 add oats, & combine well.
- 8 drop by rounded teaspoons onto baking sheet.
- 9 bake 15 minutes, then cool on wire rack.
