Perfect 1950s Moist And Chewy Brownies

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 melt chocolate in a metal bowl placed over hot water.
  • 2 thoroughly cream butter and sugar.
  • 3 add eggs and beat well.
  • 4 blend in melted chocolate, vanilla and flour.
  • 5 mix nuts into batter, or sprinkle them over the top after batter is poured into the pan.
  • 6 pour batter into a greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
  • 7 bake in slow oven at 325 degrees fahrenheit for 35 minutes.
  • 8 frost with fudge frosting if desired.
  • 9 makes 12 brownies.
