Mrs. Moore's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 3 -4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 (16 ounce) box powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans or 1 cup walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 cake: sift flour and sugar together.
- 2 heat butter, cocoa, water and oil until it boils.
- 3 pour hot mixture over flour and sugar.
- 4 mix well by hand!
- 5 add buttermilk and soda.
- 6 add eggs and vanilla.
- 7 mix well.
- 8 bake in a well greased and floured 9x13 pan at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
- 9 icing: mix butter, cocoa and buttermilk in heavy sauce pan.
- 10 heat until boils.
- 11 remove from heat.
- 12 add powdered sugar and mix well.
- 13 add pecans or walnuts and vanilla.
- 14 pour over cake while cake is still hot.
