Total Time: 55 mins
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 40 mins
Ingredients
- Servings: 15
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup granulated maple sugar (if you cannot find, substitute with brown sugar)
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup maple syrup, real
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 in a medium mixing bowl, cream together brown sugar, maple sugar, butter and eggs. stir in vanilla, baking powder and baking soda. then stir in flour 1 cup at a time until well combined. fold in walnuts.
- 3 spread batter evenly into a greased 9-inch x 13-inch baking pan. note: the batter will be quite thick.
- 4 bake for 30 minutes or until done (a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean). cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes.
- 5 for the glaze: in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring maple syrup to a boil. boil for 5-8 minutes or until syrup reduces by half and is the consistency of a glaze. remove from heat and allow to cool for 2 minutes. one spoonful at a time, drizzle glaze evenly over warm blondies. allow to sit for five minutes until glaze begins to harden--like maple candy.
- 6 cut blondies into 2-inch pieces and serve. i think these would go really well with maple-walnut ice-cream.
