Old Fashioned Porridge

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 3 cups water
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 2/3 cups old fashioned oats (not instant)
- 2/3 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- chilled milk or heavy cream
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350°f degrees.
- 2 bring water to a boil, add, salt, reduce heat to medium high and add oats.
- 3 cook for 5 minutes.
- 4 transfer the oatmeal to a 6 cup souffle dish.
- 5 add all the remaining ingredients, except milk.
- 6 stir until well combined.
- 7 bake until set (approx 1 hour).
- 8 spoon into bowls and pour milk, cream on it.
