Helens Swiss Torta

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 quart milk
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 loaf french bread or 1 loaf bread
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon clove
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts or 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2-1 cup sherry wine
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven 325 degrees.
  • 2 cut up bread into cubes.
  • 3 soak bread in milk.
  • 4 add all ingredients, to bread and milk, mix well.
  • 5 butter glass pan (9 x 14).
  • 6 pour into pan.
  • 7 bake about 1 hour- puffs up when done.
