Kalamata Walnut Bread

Total Time: 3 hrs 25 mins Preparation Time: 3 hrs Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup brine (from the olives)
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried leaf basil
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons gluten
  • 1/3 cup walnuts
  • 2/3 cup kalamata olives or 3 dozen pitted kalamata olives

Recipe

  • 1 put all ingredients except for the olives and walnuts in the bread machine according to your manufacturer's preferred order. choose the dough cycle; add olives and walnuts at the beep. shape dough and let rise until doubled. bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until done.
