Meatballs And Gravy

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 5 saltine crackers
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oil
  • flour
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef consomme or 1 cup broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 except for the flour and oil mix all of the meatball ingredients.
  • 2 form into balls the size of walnuts; roll in flour; brown in oil.
  • 3 place meatballs in baking dish and set aside.
  • 4 to make the gravy, discard all but 2 tbls of fat.
  • 5 brown flour in remaining fat and gradually add the rest of the gravy ingredients.
  • 6 stir with a whisk to make smooth.
  • 7 pour the gravy over the meatballs.
  • 8 cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
