Maple Sugar Caramels

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup maple sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium sized pan, combine all the sugars, corn syrup and cream until sugar dissolves.
  • 2 cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer reads 250 degrees f.
  • 3 remove pan from heat and stir in the salt, butter and nuts.
  • 4 pour mixture into a buttered pan and let cool.
  • 5 cut into squares.
