Mile High Fudgetopped Brownies

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
  • 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate.
  • 2 remove from heat.
  • 3 blend in sugar and vanilla.
  • 4 beat in eggs.
  • 5 combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to chocolate mix.
  • 6 stir in nuts if desired.
  • 7 pour into greased 13x9 baking pan.
  • 8 bake 350 for 25-30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.
  • 9 do not over bake.
  • 10 make the topping while the brownies are baking.
  • 11 in a heavy saucepan combine sugar, milk and butter; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • 12 reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 13 remove from heat and stir in semi-sweet and milk chips, marshmallow cream and vanilla.
  • 14 beat until smooth.
  • 15 spread over warm brownies.
  • 16 freeze until firm.
  • 17 cut with a knife that has been run under hot water.
  • 18 store in refigerator.
